ReConnect Rondo is pleased to announce the 2023 Inaugural Reconnecting Communities Summit

October 12 - 14, 2023 | St. Paul, Minnesota
October 12 - 14, 2023
St. Paul, Minnesota

This event is presented by ReConnect Rondo and sponsored by the AASHTO Center for Environmental Excellence (CEE) in partnership with the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). It is an opportunity to connect with community members, practitioners, and policy leaders from across the U.S. It’s the chance to share, learn, and plan collective efforts to overcome the adverse effects of the Federal Highway Act of 1956.

ReConnect Rondo invites 150 communities nationwide to participate in this call for a national restorative movement. A movement that will advance policy and investment in revitalizing communities experiencing residual negative impacts of transportation policy.

I-94 construction in Minnesota resulted in the destruction of the tight knit African American community of Rondo and the loss of over 700 homes and 300 businesses.

Together, we will create an African American cultural enterprise district connected by a community land bridge.
